In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Brevard worked at Finocchio's drag revue as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator; a trans co-worker, Stormy, helped her to begin transitioning. She lived at the edge of the Tenderloin, and although she was not a central part of the trans community there, she felt more comfortable there than elsewhere. Stryker interviews Brevard about her early drag career, her transition, and the bars and venues where she spent time. This includes extensive attention to the culture and working conditions at Finocchio's. affiliated with Manchester Metropolitan University. His activism began in 1973 through his founding and involvement with various lesbian political groups. After transitioning in 1975, he acquired his law degree to combat anti-trans discrimination, an MA in crime and social policy, and a PhD in transgender civil law. He founded the UK's FTM Network in 1989 and co-founded Press for Change (PFC) in 1992. Whittle is one of the leading legal academics for trans people in the UK, having personal experience with family and custody law. \r\n\r\nCollection primarily contains personal papers, academic works,
