Jonathan Alexander

Jonathan Alexander is professor of English, education, and gender & sexuality studies at the University of California, Irvine. The author or editor of 11 books, he focuses on intersections amongst literacy, pedagogy, and sexuality. He is the general editor of College Composition and Communication.


Genny Beemyn

Genny Beemyn, Ph.D., is the director of the Stonewall Center at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and the Trans Policy Clearinghouse coordinator for Campus Pride. Their many books include "The Lives of Transgender People" (2011) and "A Queer Capital: A History of Gay Life in Washington, D.C." (2014).


Amber Billey

Amber Billey received her M.L.I.S. from Pratt Institute in 2009 with certificates in Archives and Museum Librarianship. At Pratt, she focused on metadata standards, cataloging, and digital libraries for cultural heritage institutions. She currently works as the systems and metadata librarian at Bard College. Prior to Bard, Billey worked as the metadata librarian at Columbia University. From 2009-2011, she was the metadata specialist for CollectiveAccess open-source collection management software for museums, archives, and historical societies.


Dallas Denny

Dallas Denny is a writer, editor, speaker, and community builder with a longstanding interest in trans history. In 1994, while Director of the nonprofit American Educational Gender Information Service, she formed the National Transgender Library & Archive, which now resides in the Labadie Collection at the University of Michigan. Her efforts toward preservation of historic trans material can be found on her website.


Aaron Devor

Aaron H. Devor, P.h.D., has been studying and teaching transgender topics for over thirty years. One of the authors of versions 6 and 7 of the the World Professional Association for Transgender Health’s (WPATH's) "Standards of Care" and chair of the WPATH Archives Committee, he is widely published and has delivered lectures and keynote addresses to audiences around the world. A trans man, he is the founder and academic director of the world’s largest transgender archives at the University of Victoria, Canada.


Andrea Jenkins

Andrea Jenkins, who is currently on the City Council for the City of Minneapolis, was formerly the transgender oral historian for the Tretter Collection at the University of Minnesota. She has earned master's degrees in community economic development and in fine arts, focusing on creative writing. Andrea is the Intermedia Arts board chair, a Bush fellow, a writer, and performance artist.


Susan Stryker

Susan Stryker is an associate professor of gender and women's studies and the director of the Institute for LGBT Studies at the University of Arizona. Susan earned her Ph.D. in United States History at UC Berkeley in 1992, subsequently held a post-doctoral fellowship in sexuality studies at Stanford University, and has been a distinguished visiting faculty member at Harvard University, Simon Fraser University, Macquarie University, and the University of California, Santa Cruz. Among other work, she co-edited both volumes of "Transgender Studies Reader," and is founding co-editor of TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly.



Nikki Tantum received her M.L.S. from Simmons University in 2015 with a focus in archives management. She currently works as the digital and emerging scholarship projects librarian at the College of the Holy Cross, where she focuses on digital preservation planning and project management. Prior to Holy Cross, she worked as the project coordinator and digital archivist for the Digital Transgender Archive.



Niki Trauthwein

Niki Trauthwein is the founder and chairwoman of the Lili Elbe Archive - Institute for Inter, Trans and Queer History in Berlin, specializing in biographical research and transgender studies. She lectures about the various historical aspects, issues, and challenges of transgender and transsexual experience


Cristan Williams

Cristan Williams is a trans historian and activist. She is the editor of The TransAdvocate, founder of the Houston Transgender Archives, serves on the national steering body for the Urban Coalition for HIV/AIDS Prevention Services, and is the executive director of the Transgender Foundation of America.
