Alan Hart's 1908 undergraduate transcript from Albany College, which he attended and graduated under his previous name. Albany College was, at the time, a Presbyterian college in Albany, Oregon; it later became Lewis & Clark College, relocated to Portland, and ceased to be religiously affiliated. Dr. Alan Hart (1890-1962) was an American physician, novelist, and trans man. Hart devoted his professional life to the study and treatment of tuberculosis, particularly its diagnosis via X-ray. He was also the author of four novels on medical themes and a nonfiction book about X-rays. Hart began medically transitioning during medical school and lived as a man from the late 1910s until his death. Hart's collection at the Digital Transgender Archive includes his five books as well as various clippings and ephemera.
