Christine Jorgensen, who always wanted to be an entertainer when she was a little boy, now has the satisfaction of nearing age 50 with a career of actress, mimic, nightclub entertainer, college lecturer, author, television personality, hatter, cookbooker, and incipient novelist. Here (at left) is George Jorgensen seen in 1943 when he was attending the New York Institute of Photography. In 1950 he left New York for Denmark where he underwent a series of operations. Two years later Christine emerged. Picture in center is one she sent her parents in 1952, along with a letter explaining what had happened. At right is Christine as she looks today.
