He stands on an animal-skin rug in front of decorative fabric. Stan Bennett in 'Splinters', dressed in an exotic outfit influenced by the silent-screen vamp Theda Bara. Stan Bennett was one of the original members of the Splinters troupe of ex-servicemen, who, having gained experience acting in drag with World War I concert parties, organized themselves into a commercial act and enjoyed great success performing at music hall well into the 1930s. Signed and dated 1921.
